The Swedish government has allocated about 55 million euro for an energy efficiency programme, in which municipalities and counties can participate. The programme is administered by the Swedish Energy Agency (SEA) and runs for five years, starting in 2010. Norsjö and Malå have joined this programme together as two of the first municipalities in Sweden.
