RASLRES international renewable energy seminar in Skellefteå, Sweden

Tuesday, June 5th, 2012

Norsjö Kommun, Swedish project partner in RASLRES, organized a two-day seminar end of April in Skellefteå with speakers from Finland, Austria, Scotland, Copenhagen and Sweden. This seminar was oriented to entrepreneurs, communities, municipalities and organisations working with renewable energy and the participants came from the four northern counties in Sweden and from Finland.

The seminar – a super event co organized by two NPP projects; SMALLEST and RASLRES – had the ambition to address the regional development possibilities through renewable energy. During the two days, the audience could learn more about successful examples of renewable energy businesses in Sweden, Finland and in Güssing, Austria. They were also informed about the new techniques and possibilities within the biomass supply: Development of small scale biofuel chains and about efficient supply of biomass to bio refineries.

After the first day’s event there was time for networking before and during the official dinner. Many other energy organizations and projects could present themselves.

The second day was designated to work-shops and to field-trips.

The whole event hosted over 50 people for two days and seemed to be very appreciated by the participants. Hopefully, this will contribute to more regional development through the renewable energy sources available in the north of Scandinavia!
