The national partners are responsible for the successful advancement of the project in each respective country. They are also in charge of ‘on-the-ground’ decision-making. Nevertheless, all major decisions relating to the project must be discussed with the lead partner (WDC), the WP leader in question and Steering Committee beforehand.

The Operational Committee (OC) will focus on the daily management of the project, resolving issues at operational level and reporting to the Steering Committee (SC) as necessary. Each Work Package (WP) lead is responsible for the primary decision-making in his or her WP, and will present these to the OC and if necessary ultimately to the SC.

In order to ensure a wide representation of stakeholders, two levels of project participation are in place – actual partnership (the project partners) and associate partners (see Figure 1). Project partners will implement the project and work as national partners (see green boxes, Figure 1). Associate partners will add value to the project implementation by providing relevant appropriate expertise (see blue boxes, Figure 2).
