The RASLRES project will design, pilot and publicise the best product services to create and sustain markets for renewable energy solutions in local rural areas. The main aim of project – funded under the Northern Periphery Programme (NPP) – is to increase the use and uptake of locally produced renewable energy solutions in the NPP area through the development and implementation of targeted market stimulation models (or ‘MSMs’).

RASLRES-supported pilot models will ensure that locally managed – and owned – supply systems and business models will be used to produce and use renewable energy. The project will also support the development of tools to measure rural greenhouse gas emissions and assist in the setting-up of a network for transnational exchange for knowledge, policy initiatives, technology and methodologies.
